        The Ventura Classical Guitar Society held its Sept 2011 meeting on Wednesday, the 28th.  Our meetings are held in the Senior Center at the Pleasant Valley Recreation and Parks District, 1605 East Burnley in Camarillo, California.  Visit the VCCGS home page for directions and details about our meetings.  Our program for the evening was the following...


7 PM - Open mic...

Ensemble  (Liz Cole, Angele Blanton, Gail DeWolfe, Jean Desilets, Lynne Peterson and Larry Conley).  The ensemble played two selections: 

            Trio Facile by Von Call, and

Steve Bernd:  Shadow Of Your Smile;  Cielito Lindo

Lynne Peterson:   Study #7, Sor

Juanita Wooten:  Simple Study, Leo Brouwer;  Etude #11, Villa Lobos

8 PM - Ramon Fermin, guest...

       Our guest for the evening was Ramon Fermin. He is based in San Francisco, with concert credits throughout Europe and North America.  Ramon received his training at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he earned a Master of Music degree.  He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB), earning a Bachelor of Music degree under John Dearman of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet.
