Ventura County

Classical Guitar Society

March 31, 2010

Matthew McAllister,

Aisling Agnew, guests

Our March 2010 meeting was held on the 31st, and - for this meeting only - the venue was changed to the United Methodist Church Mission House, 300 Mission Dr., Camarillo, CA.  Our next meeting will be the last Wednesday in April, April 28th, 2010, and the venue will again be the Pleasant Valley Recreation and Parks Senior Center.  See our home page for directions.  Our guest will be Flamenco guitarist Ben Shearer.

Our guests for the evening were Matthew McAllister (guitar) and Aisling Agnew (flute), and they were fabulous!  Together, they perform as the Flute and Guitar Duo.  They last played for the Ventura County Classical Guitar Society in October 2007.  They met in Glasgow while studying at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Their joint passion for chamber music, interacting with composers and performing new music brought them together.

As usual, the first hour was made available for volunteer performers, from the floor.  Here is a list of those performers for the evening:
